1 Month 17 days - The team gets bigger - January 31st 2016

Merged together in a studio apartment was not ideal but at this moment a necessity for the Rasoul´s. Their home started slowly but surely to get cozy.

I found a TV for them through Facebook. I am not fond of TV  but I figured that the they could watch movies together on DVD with the DVD player I got them before christmas and enjoy a classic movie night with the family every now and then. Also all the DVD´s that I had bought for them, would be watched in German and that too would help them with learning the new language.

The TV that Monika was giving away for free, was very large and of great quality. Tony picked it up and installed it.

And on this day three more people had offered to come to the Rasoul´s and drop of donations in kind.

Philip and Stephanie, friends of us, dropped off a lamp, offered curtain rods and more.

Charlotte, another friend, brought a microwave that was gifted by the Dietrichs. She also brought a lovely elegant coat that fit Shamse perfectly and a drying rack.

Thuy Oanh, whom I met through Facebook, and her husband dropped off a sideboard that also had three drawers. The TV fit on it perfectly as well as the DVD player and there was still plenty of room in the drawers for DVD´s, books, clothes etc.

They all met the Rasoul´s, came upstairs, shook hands, introduced themselves, helped with setting up everything, and smiled. It was lovely to see how happy the Rasoul´s were and how overwhelmed they were by all these people that helped so far. Each of them was special and I will be forever grateful for having such amazing support.

I had brought extension cables and started to mount the TV and the DVD player. I couldn´t wait to see their faces once the amazing TV would show "Nemo"´s face in excellent quality. I realized too late that I had forgotten about an HDMI cable and decided to get one the very next day.

I was the only one disappointed. The Rasoul´s were so humble and thankful in general, they smiled at me and said that it really wasn´t a problem.

I smiled back, nonetheless I looked forward to getting the HDMI cable. I really wanted them to have happy moments and offer them any help they needed.
